Look, I’m all about working smarter, not harder. And, I’d bet you are too! That’s why it’s important to learn how to leverage Instagram features to maximize the reach on every post. I’m not just talking about more eyes on your post, I’m talking about more of the right eyes on your post.

If you’re taking the time to create content that connects, you might as well squeeze all the juice out of it that you can. That’s why I’m outlining 5 things you can do to get the most from each Instagram post. (This is where you’re gonna wanna take some notes)

How to Leverage SEO on Instagram

  1. Use Geotags

Be sure you’re using geotags. Tag the location of your post. This will help you connect with a more localized audience.

2. Use On-Screen Captions

Use captions (on-screen) generated within the IG app. IG can actually “read” the captions of your content. This means that the algorithm is identifying keywords to associate with your content which helps it share it with the right people. In addition, many of your audience members are likely watching without sound. Using captions helps make the content more accessible.

3. Use Keywords

Use text on screen with keywords. If you’re a REALTOR be sure you’re using location-based keywords along with any other relevant words on the screen when possible.

4. Write Captions with SEO in Mind

Write captions (below the post) with SEO in mind. The algorithm is always attempting to categorize your content based on keywords so be sure to include words that your audience may be searching for in your caption below your post. If a client would search “tips for first-time home buyers” then be sure to use that in your caption in addition to the audio and text on screen.

5. Use Relevant Hashtags

Finally, the one you’ve heard before, hashtags. Using relevant hashtags can also ensure you’re getting in front of the right audience. When planning your hashtags consider these things: your location, your area of expertise, and your audience. I’ve included some examples below that can help you begin to brainstorm your own.

Location: #vegasrealestate, #summerlinrealestate, #lasvegasliving
Area of Expertise: #realestateexpert, #loanofficer, #realestatemarketing
Audience: #firsttimehomebuyers, #vabuyers, #realestateinvestors

When you plan your next post, keep these things in mind to help take your content to the next level and finally get in front of the right people on Instagram.
