As Q1 is coming to a close, this is a great time to reflect on your goals for 2023. Schedule some time in the next week to sit down and look at what you've accomplished over this past quarter. Take in both quantitative and qualitative data to assess where you are. Great leaders and business owners build space into their schedules to consistently analyze their progress and make calculated changes to help them get to where they want to be. What Were My Q1 Goals?

Reminding yourself of your goals on a regular basis will keep you motivated. Keep your goals on the wall in your office space or on your screensaver on your desktop. You don’t want to have to dig for that file or piece of scratch paper you scribbled them on.

Where Did I Land in Relation to My Q1 Goals?

We’re just talking about data here. What are the numbers? What are the facts? Are you 70% to your Q1 goal? 0% to your Q1 goal. Write down the numbers without judgment. These numbers give us clues on what to do next.

What Led to My Success in Achieving My Goals?

Let’s take time to celebrate and get curious. Did you make progress toward your goal? Did you hit your goal? Did you do better than last quarter? Which of your actions led you to this place? Think about this holistically. Did you attend x amount more events than you did previously? Did you post x more videos? Did you make x more calls? Get specific.

What Led to Me Falling Short of My Goals?

If you didn’t hit your goals, think critically about which actions you did or didn’t take to arrive at this moment. You may realize that you didn’t prioritize that goal or you tried a new marketing tactic that didn’t pan out. Again, no judgment, just observations to help you move forward with clarity and confidence.

What Am I Currently Avoiding That Would Make a Positive Impact on My Business?

Is there something you know you “should” implement in your business but you’re actively avoiding? This is the time to get real with yourself. What’s that thing you know would make the difference that you’re not yet doing?

Write a list of all the things you need support with and prioritize the ones that’ll make the biggest impact on you achieving your goals. Decide which ones you’ll delegate, delete or do.

Great leaders and business owners know that they can’t do it all. Do you need to work with a coach or mentor? Do you need to hire support staff? Do you need to finally bite the bullet and hire a videographer?

Which Routines/Systems Need to Be Implemented in Q2?

Analyze your systems and routines. What’s working and what’s not working? Which systems/routines could you implement that would lead to greater success in Q2? It might be as simple as checking your email at 2 designated times per day or creating that listing checklist you keep saying you’ll create. Maybe it’s creating a welcome sequence that’s triggered after someone downloads your freebie.

Am I Happy with How I Showed Up for Myself? Why or Why Not?

It’s important to take note of how you feel. Maybe you set some very ambitious goals that you didn’t quite hit but you know you worked your ass off. Maybe you set safe goals and blew them out of the water but you’re not feeling very accomplished. Get clear on your feelings. They’ll help you understand what the next right step is.
