Put a Stop to These 3 Things & See Your Business BOOM

In 2022, I've had the pleasure of working with over 100 real estate professionals from around the world including big cities like New York and LA and smaller communities like Yuma, AZ.

The funny thing is when it comes to brand building, no matter where you're from or how long you've been in the business, you can benefit from putting an end to these 3 things once and for all.

So let's hold a tiny memorial for the things we're letting die in 2022 πŸ₯€

Comparisonitis

You've felt this one before, but HER brand is not the same as YOUR brand.  You have different values, interests and life experiences. You serve different audiences with different needs. You have your own unique personality and quirks.  And that's a great thing!

Instead of comparing your journey to hers, spend that energy on gaining clarity around who you are and who you serve. Then commit to a content cadence that allows you to share your message with the masses. Voila! You're a brand builder.

Remember:  You can't perfect your own game, while you're watching someone else's.

Shiny Object Syndrome

You can't go into 2023 without a plan and expect to see meaningful growth. If you're not crystal clear on the outcomes you're working towards, you'll be attracted to anyone or anything that's promising you "progress". Remember that course you bought that you never actually took or that video equipment you purchased that's collecting dust in your office? You're not alone in these experiences, but when you have a plan for where you're going and how you'll get there, you're more likely to follow through with focus and intention which is so much more rewarding than the fleeting excitement that got you to swipe a card on a Black Friday Special promising to solve all your problems.

Think about it this way...if you're in New York...you wouldn't call an Uber to help you get to Paris. While Uber does a great job of transporting people from place to place with relative ease, it can't take you to Paris from New York. Knowing where you're going...can help you choose the best partner to get you there...in this case...perhaps, Delta πŸ˜‰

Remember: When you have a vision for where you're going, you'll be better equipped to choose the right partners, team members and programs to help you get there.

Letting People (even clients) Hijack Your Time

Hear me out! You need to have a schedule that actually aligns with the goals you have for yourself and for your brand. This means, blocking out time for content creation, website updates, planning events, implementing pop-bys, photoshoots, collaborations, CRM updates, writing your email newsletter, etc.

Instead of trying to fit these things into the "cracks" of your schedule, you need to treat these things as equally as important as meeting with a client. For example, if a client asks to see a house at a time you've blocked off for content creation, you simply say you have another appointment and offer a new suggested time. Treating the time to work on your business as sacred time will help you get off the hamster wheel. I know it's scary in the beginning because you may be afraid to lose a client (if they leave for something as simple as this...they likely weren't your people anyhow), but ultimately, you'll be setting yourself up for long term success.

Remember: Building a brand with intention, will always get you further than being a people pleaser. Boundaries, BooπŸ˜‰
